NaNoWriMo 2016 (National Novel Writing Month)

http://nanowrimo.org/

I think we’ve talked about this previous years. I just realized it’s coming up and trying to decide if this is the year I should go for it. Anyone past participants or “thinking about it” participants?! Would be fun to have a thread for anyone to come to for successes, gripes, motivation, encouragement!

"National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing.

On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.

Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel."

There is also Camp NANOWRIMO! :

And, there is a young writer’s version (if I don’t share my age, I could fit in this demographic!!):

Thank you for posting this! What a great idea. I just joined for the first time. Have you got an idea for your novel yet?

I do not!!! I have started a children’s picture book (that I may or may not ever finish) but nothing of length.

My Bookclub face-timed Jonathan Stone, Moving Day. He had written that book 15 years prior, and it was rejected by all. He sent it off to a thrillers contest, and won.

So, good luck. You just never know.

Abasket–I am in a writer’s group and a woman in our group is doing this. She brought her first work to the group last night. Go for it!
