<p>How prestigious are the NASA internships that are for people who live close to one of the NASA centers? Is it good for college, especially if I want to major in engineering? Since there are less people applying would it be considered less prestigious than those offered by the INSPIRE/SHARP program?</p>
<p>NASA internships are very prestigious. Take it from someone whose D works at KSC. It will look awesome on your resume not to mention that many contractors who support NASA throughout the Centers will consider you for a job offer if you complete your internship. Too many of NASA’s engineers and scientist are getting ready to retire and they need young blood to rekindle the agency.</p>
