Every time you think it can’t get any worse. Sports Illustrated and Lansing State Journal report that then Athletic Director now Trustee George Perles buried evidence including video of Nassar drug and rape of MSU coed athlete way back in 1992 when Nassar was a med student at MSU. So…a current MSU trustee could have stopped it back at the beginning.

—Davis said she became pregnant and later had a miscarriage. She claimed that Nassar was the only man who could have been the father.”
It is a crazy story to be sure. The last day to file for the extra compensation pool. A video tape…who has the tape? And she got pregnant and miscarried. Wow. Hers is the only story of the 100s where allegedly sex occurred let alone video-taped sex occurred. He is in jail for life I don’t know what more you can do to scum like that. Hadn’t heard this one yet. Will probably be National news tomorrow. I wonder if Perles told anyone about the video when the Nasser scandal hit?
IMO, unlikely that Perles disclosed the video or the NDA to the Board as 1) it would have been personally damning to admit he knew of Nassar allegations way back in '92 amidst the background of frenzy, firings, and indictments; and 2) the Board did not act as if there was potentially discoverable documentation prior to 2010-12 so out there. Unless its a hoax, too many verifiable facts alleged for Perles to survive as it looks like MSU’s liability just went up again.
Original and copy of video likely destroyed in '92. But, it seems like Nassar liked to record. There may be more out there. From back in March - Larry Nassar’s boss (former Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine William Strampel) arrested. The criminal complaint alleges he propositioned female medical students for sex, groped them and solicited nude photos from them. Scary thought #1 - Perles (alleged) reaction '92 seems very heavy handed to protect a no-name (then) med student and a minor non-rev sport with video evidence and a pregnancy. I could see it to protect football/basketball. But a paper trail with a coach and a NDA left behind when it likely could have been handled more discretely by getting rid of Nassar. Why? At least one other high level perv (Strampel) at MSU that we know of.
Scary though #2 - last sentence of Perles’s MSU Trustee bio blurb “he is especially known for his long-time association with the Special Olympics.”

Unless she is deceased I would presume she’s in the country and would be deposed. I am guessing she’d be at minimum in her 60s…the litigant is claiming it happened in 1992 so 26 years ago. Each of the original claims is going to be mediated separately for the $500 million pot according to the press and additional new claims like this one fall into the hold back pot of money of $75 million for defense and will be litigated separately Public radio said. Michigan legislature set the Sept 10 deadline for everyone filing a claim whether they were part of the cohort that were known and gave victim impact statements or new claimants like this one.
Here is how the payouts are structured. It is pretty complex and one of the Detroit papers did a pretty good job laying out the difference between the original group of claimants and these new claims which are not settled but will be settled out of the held back dollars. The state opened a window with an expiration date of this past Monday for any additional claims of which the thread’s story claimant was one.
