nasty or difficult questions from last ssat test?

anybody remember nasty questions from last test?

they were all nasty.

did you get any of the nasty questions right by luck or guessing skill?

NellyRae, dont discourage the other test takers too much. Its fine to be cautious but you could worry someone. Gunga, as all the books say, eliminate at least two or three before guessing. There were one or two nasty ones but remember, percentiles are what count, if everyone else got the question wrong then you’re in the clear. Just read them well, the wording is really what makes it difficult

didn’t mean to discouarge anybody. (but honestly, if you get discouargaed by one little comment on a cahtrroom how the ehck are you gonna surviv in life?!)

Gunga, i got like half of them down to two and then just guessed with whatever i thought felt rightt. Best of luck!

Nelly has a good suggestion. Although, I would be a bit nervous with that strategy because Math isnt like Verbal, there is always only one correct answer, while verbal could have two, just one BETTER answer. So what I did, I tried to figure out what it was asking as quickly as possible and then do the first working steps, from there I kind of had a better idea of where the question was going so I could eliminate. Dont guess without eliminating though, even if it is obvious an answer is wrong, just cross it off on the question paper. It is not worth the risk of you bubbling in the wrong circle when you are transferring your answers from booklet to answer sheet
Good luck!
You can PM me if you need any help :)

yeah cookie, my method doesn’t usually work for the math. For the really tricky problems in the math tho, just start plugging in numbers. start with c, and then you’ll know if you need to go higher or lower. it worked for me for a couple of them.

LOL i dont think any of your answers were what gunga was really looking for…haha
im taking my tests in january so i cant really help you! but good luck!
