nasty science

my ACT science score was only a 29 (uggh), but overall I received a 33 on my ACT. Should I retake for the lone purpose of raising my ACt science? I ask because some of the colleges I am applying to do not allow score choice, and thus if I did do worse or got the same score would look a bit worse instead of having just one score sent in.

You should take it again anyway because most of the time people do better the second time they try than the first time. Besides if you do the same or worse, most colleges look at the higher-scoring ACT when making their decision. And if you really don’t want to send in scores that might be lower, don’t send them right away, wait to know your score and if you like it then send it in. (I do not recommend taking that path though because it is more expensive, but if you have money go for it.)
