<p>Does anyone know what score is neccessary to be a commended scholar, a semi-sinalist and a finalist?</p>

It’s a lot like National Merit. The necessary scores differ depending on what area of the country you live in. Texas is in a region with every state west of us including Alaska and Hawaii. Except for California, none of the states west of us is known for having a large African American population, so that’s probably why our region is so good. If you look at last year’s threads on this topic, the first people to be notified found out they were semi-finalists around August 30. So it won’t be long now.</p>
