National College Match - 2009-2010

I’m still having to sit here and help try and make it go through,a nd I still don’t get to work on my freaking reading reflection papers. grumble

i’m so ****ed that i’m always at the “submit” part and the site restarts again.
i have seriously done this 5 times already.

In theory, these extension requests give us more time to work on the essays, so I guess that this might be a good thing for us.

What the heck? The short answers I did earlier today are completely missing now.

And I definitely pressed Save and Continue at least 5 times as I remember it giving me the questions I didn’t do in BIG RED letters

submitted!!!

FINALLY!

good luck everyone!

I had to do my short answers again, too. Make sure you save your essays on Microsoft Word, though.

man, everything is soooooooo slow and i just want to go to sleep! even though i still haven’t done my homework.

Should we be chatty about essays and stuff? What did you all write about? We’re having that problem where it keeps saying the household section isn’t complete, and she has to go into each screen and look at it again.

questbridge hasn’t even emailed me back yet…

hopefully my extension will get granted for at least a day

I have a really awesome name that describes me really well, so I used that as the center of my biographical essay.

Have you ever met people that have last names that are also words? (Anna Gay, for example) Well, my last name is a word in the English language, and I can also use that word to describe me as a person. (unlike Gay, since I’m not gay…)

Daughter’s essays are a bio one about the abuse she experienced when she was little and how she turned to art to survive it, and a poem about her spiritual path, and one about being at SAIC for the summer and living the life of an artist 24/7. She’s probably not like most of yall – she’s not a big academic star, but she’s a visual arts star.

for the people whose short answers got erased–did they ever come back? o_o

TrinSF: Is she applying to Parsons?

That’s an amazing story. I’m sure that it would make a great essay (if you manage to turn it in, that is…) It’s too bad that you can’t turn pictures in as supplementary materials, though, because that would be a great addition to her app. (well…unless she’s standing next to one of her works in her personal photo)

Good luck on helping out with your daughter’s apps!

raechelli:
well…no. That’s what we mean when we say “erased”. =)

I didn’t save mine on microsoft word, so I had to retype them all.

littlesunshine: Parsons, exactly. But as far as we can tell, she has to compete with all the big academic powerhouses to get to finalist level before anyone will care that she wants to match with Parsons and not someplace like Yale or MIT.

ugh…i have been trying to submit my application after i fixed a few things, and now it won’t even submit T_T

noticeably faster connection!!

i have to disagree, my submit feature STILL does not work, but maybe that’s just because I haven’t been pressing refresh as often as i should.

and lol at the automatic censoring!

Just redid my short answers on OpenOffice this time.

Is it telling you the deadline is past when you try to submit? I haven’t filled out an extension request yet as the e-mail said to try and the morning and only after that to fill out an extension request.
