<p>can I get to application part 2 by applying for a fee waiver, before I might become a finalist?</p>

<p>Lol I am Matching Princeton, MIT, Stanford, Yale too…2290, Rank 1, lots of ec’s with emphasis in math/science.</p>
<p>So, should I tack on Columbia? Oh, by the way, not that this is significant or anything, but does anybody know how the desks are at HYPSM? Columbia’s desks (i.e. the surface) are really tiny and the chairs have a circular protrusion on the top that makes sitting on it for even 30 minutes uncomfortable. Lol, just curious.</p>
<p>^I’m not Matching Columbia, but applying Regular Decision with its own application. Gah now that I think of it…I shouldn’t have Matched any schools…the % rate is like…1.7%??? wth?? I should’ve done Early Action or ED gah.</p>
<p>Wait…the % rate of matching with schools is 1.7%?? Is that out of the entire applicant pool or just QB people…because there are fairly few QB applicants in the applicant pool. </p>
<p>Uh oh, alot of people are ranking the schools that I’m ranking (er, have already ranked, lol)…and the people that are ranking have better stats than me… oh well. RD…</p>
<p>^I’m talking about Yale. I’m sure Stanford, Princeton, and MIT have around the same Match % rate.</p>
<p>You have to realize that others who were accepted by Yale might not have had Yale as their first choice.</p>
<p>I encourage everyone to apply to Yale so that I can get into Princeton ^-^</p>
<p>Would it be okay to write in the additional info section of the Common App that a college is your first choice? (Since you can customize the common app).
I keep hearing that certain QB partner colleges will reduce matches this year…</p>
<p>Yale is one of the only ones I ranked. Alas. Well, 1.7% acceptance is better than what it would have been - I wasn’t planning to apply at all.</p>

<p>I ranked Amherst, Bowdoin, Columbia, Princeton, Yale, UPenn, Vassar, and Wellesley. I want to get into one of the Ivies but the other schools are still really good and, best of all, they are not in Ohio! 
Which is why I didn’t rank Oberlin at all :D</p>

<p>Hey guys, reposting my earlier question: for the colleges that want the Common App, do we have to have separate essays, or can we copy and paste the Questbridge personal statement to the Common App essay - will they be considering both the Questbridge and the Common?</p>
<p>So I emailed Columbia asking them about their recommendation requirements regarding QB and they said that the recommendations have to be submitted with their forms and you can’t go on to the second part of the application until you pay. If you have QB, then you get a fee waiver but you won’t know until the 23rd. How am I supposed to access the recommendations and give my teachers enough time to fill them out? Or, how exactly would I use the Questbridge recommendations and put them on the Columbia forms?</p>

<p>QB Reply regarding faxed teacher recs:
"Any faxes that we have received for you will be listed in the ‘Faxes Received’ section at the bottom of your ‘My Locker’ page. If a fax sent on your behalf is not showing up in this section, please make sure that it was sent using the appropriate QuestBridge fax cover sheet with barcode, and allow 48 hours for the fax to be processed.</p>
<p>If your fax still has not appeared after 48 hours, please try faxing it again, if possible from a different fax machine, as sometimes a particular machine may distort the barcode. We will accept materials faxed by October 8 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. However, we encourage you to submit your fax as soon as possible so that you will have the chance to verify that it was received.</p>
<p>If you have already sent your fax more than once using the appropriate cover sheet and received confirmation from your fax machine that it was sent successfully, please do not try sending it again, as this will slow the processing of faxes. We will contact you if you are missing any necessary materials.</p>

<p>AMAZING NEWS for international applicants! Seems like Brown University, the newest college match addition, grants scholarships to internationals! I e-mailed QuestBridge about UPenn’s status with internationals and if I should bother ranking any other colleges than Yale, Princeton, and Pomona (the colleges that offer international scholarships) and this is what they responded:</p>
<p>Students who are not U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents may apply to our program. However, only Brown University, Pomona College, Princeton University, and Yale University will consider these students for admission and full scholarships through the College Match process. Most of our partner colleges use federal and state funds to finance a portion of the scholarships, and these funds are only available for U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents.</p>
<p>Nonetheless, our partner colleges will consider all students who apply through the Regular Decision process, regardless of citizenship status. In 2008, more than a dozen QuestBridge applicants who were not U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents gained acceptance and financial aid to our partner colleges via the Regular Decision process.</p>
<p>You may still rank University of Pennsylvania even though it is unlikely they will match you as an international student.</p>
