National College Match - 2009-2010

Congrats on the great score tomjonesistheman. I thought scores from the Sept. ACT were eligible for the Match. My D submitted her Sept. score and she printed it out from the ACT site and she faxed it herself to QB. Definately put it on your application!!!

Make sure you send a cover sheet with it.

@everyone: I just called the 650 # and no one picked up! Do you guys know which of the contact #s is more reliable?

@bears and dogs

I truly can’t decide which one I’d want to go to more. I’m hoping I can become a finalist so I can apply to both. I would be excited to go to either!

freaking out even though i’ve finished all my essays/short answers! :(

^Still gotta revise TWO essays AND do SHORT ANSWERS…my life

My writing is almost done, but I’m really worried about QuestBridge not receiving my recs =/

Recs, essays, application, and counselor portion COMPLETE! See you on the 23rd!

Gratz applicannot! Best wishes! =D

On another note…anyone successfully call QuestBridge today? Are they off for Yom Kippur?

Good luck applicannot!

I hope i finish soon too >.<

yea, i can’t contact them. what do i have to do to make them take my call?

i read through this thread and saw that a lot of people said it was okay to fax unofficial score reports, found online, from home.

what did you guys put on the cover sheet, for name, phone number, and e-mail, then, because it said it was supposed to be faxed from a counselor? With that, it is supposed to say your GC’s info.

so, if you sent it from home, what did you put?

I’d like to know too!

and what did you guys write for additional info?

i think i should add something, but I just don’t know what! lol

i think i’m missing/forgetting something…

^I talked about my hobbies.

My counselor’s email on the faxed cover sheet is different from the one matched to her account…hmm I hope that is alright. And she faxed the School Profile twice! I don’t know why…would this be okay? Or should I contact Questbridge.

goodness, essay#2 is just KILLING me. I’ve been staring at an empty word document for the past hour and a half. I have so many ideas about what to write for this and I just can’t decide what I want to write about! Ughhhhh.

Yeah, and I’m with mia, I feel like I should write something down for additional info but I don’t know what would be good to write.

Did anybody notice the lengths of the sample essays they put up?
The two short answers are way below 500 words and the second personal statement is over 1000 words…

sunflower: haha, i’m stuck on the first one. once i start writing, i realize i’m out of stuff to say by 100 words!

so two issues:

-when you send your scores by yourself, what info do you put?

AND

-what did you write for additional info?

tomjones: thanks for the tip about hobbies, but all of mine are basically covered in the EC’s section and short answers

(btw, my counselor still hasn’t started my rec. S***!)

Ju_liaa: I just called with the 888# and it worked.

This is nerve-racking. I think I’m pulling an all-nighter tonight and missing school tomorrow.

Exactly how I feel man, exactly how I feel.

Yea…and the tone of the essays was weird…like my stories are WEAK compared to them (not really emotional or anything, just solid).
