I emailed my counselor a screenshot from the CollegeBoard website, and he printed it and faxed it with the stuff he had to fax. For my additional information, I wrote about how my schedule got so messed up my senior year - like how I ended up with Creative Writing instead of a real English (have no fear! this is my FIFTH English credit, the others are for real) and how I don’t have a fourth year of a language.

DS wrote about a couple of transcript idiosyncracies that aren’t well-explained by the transcript and HS profile.

@collegefall: I SWEAR TO GOD I’M GONNA KILL SOMEONE. I just called the 888 # and no one got it! How is it that you called less than 20 minutes ago and they picked up?! This was my FIFTH call today >_<

Do they expect us to fly ourselves all the way down to Cali to ask for assistance personally?

Did you try calling (gasp) more than once in a row? It’s two days before applications are due. They are VERY busy.

@applicannot: Yeah the first time i called 3 times in a row T_T

thanks, applicannot. i completely forgot about schedule mess ups and courses not offered.

so now, i have one issue:

TEST SCORES!

i don’t understand how some people say that they printed out their scores and sent them from home. my transcript includes all my scores, but my act score is not readable.

what personal info did you guys write on the cover sheet?

@Mia: What do you mean what did we write on the coversheet? I don’t think coversheets aren’t for information, they’re literally just a cover for the other documents…right?

like name, phone, and e-mail. some people say they sent their scores themselves, from home. the name, phone, and e-mail fields are supposed to be the counselor’s info. but if applicants sent the info themselves, then what did they write in those fields?

does that make sense?

Should the transcripts have our senior year schedule…??? Cuz i just saw mine and it has only 9-11th grades and my 12th grade classes are not listed on it. Is that how a regular transcript is or should I go talk to my counselor about it?

@Mia: Ok i get it now. I can’t really answer your question thought because my counselor did all that stuff :/

@Paki: My transcript has my senior year schedule on it. If you think that there’s a way for your counselor to get it on there and i would go with asking them to do that…

Ahh. I’m counselor can’t log in to send my recommendation. She tried calling, but I don’t think it helped. I think she’s emailing & faxing it though. Is anyone else having this problem? My other teacher was able to send it without any problems this weekend…

Guys recs still count if they are sent tomorrow right? They have to or I’m seriously screwed! One teacher has yet to send it and my counselor has to resend T_T

do all of u have 12th grade courses listed on transcript???

i dont know any other way colleges will verify that im taking like 5 APs.

A few thoughts…

Sorry if I mislead anybody by saying that my D self faxed her stuff. It was actually just the late ACT she took. Trying to think back that long ago (2 whole years ) I am now thinking the score may have come in after we pushed submit, so that is why she self faxed/reported it.

RE: Not getting through to QB via phone. Remember, there were over 6,000 applicants last year, so I assume there are way more this year. If all of them are trying to get last minute question answered…well you get the point. Also, D gets a Christmas card from the QB staff with their group photo each year, and the entire staff MAY be about 20 people. I am trying to visualize the card, but it’s around that number. They cannot possibly handle ALL the calls that are coming in. Just keep dialing.

Shoot. I have another issue. I just realized that I have to send in a transcript from a summer program at Upenn that I went to this summer. It takes 1-2 days for them to process the transcript + 1-2 days for overnight shipping so it probably won’t get to them on time. I can’t call penn now because the office closed…do you think questbridge accept my transcript if it arrives late…?

Okay, here is the “mom” in me coming out. STEP AWAY FROM CC and finish QB…then come back!

Good luck to all of you, and remember, the stress has only just begun! :)

raechelli, was the summer Penn program for college credit? If not, you don’t need the transcript, if so, you do.

All applicants, just make sure you push submit by the deadline, (don’t wait till the last minute as the system will be slow or crashed!) but don’t freak out if one rec is a day late or whatever. I can’t swear to it, but from what I know of QB from the last couple of years, is that they are there to assist you in getting into school, not penalize you for a teacher or counselor delay. As I said, I can’t promise you that this is correct information, but PLEASE just make sure YOUR portion of the application is complete and submitted on time. The rest is out of your control.

I just got through after like 5 calls. I was kind of surprised when I actually heard someone speak instead of the voice message haha. The person said that as long as I submit my application by the 30th, it would be okay regardless of when my counselor and recommenders send in their faxes & letters (which they haven’t done yet. nope, not one). She basically told me that the order of things they receive does not matter–as long as everything’s in by the 30th, we’re good to go.
hope that helped!

when does the QB office close, do you know? It’s in California, right?

^That’s a relief. The deadline is only a couple of days away and one of my teachers hasn’t even started his recommendation yet. I feel doomed…
