National College Match - 2009-2010

Kudos to you all for submitting your app!

I am officially in the submitted club! Writing all all the essays on the last day was a daunting task, but that’s what I get for procrastinating. I was able to get them edited by several friends and revised them myself, so hopefully that shouldn’t be a problem.

Good luck to you all and see you in 3 weeks!

Hey guys.
I just finally finished and submitted my application.
I was reading the problems with the recommendation statuses, and am glad to know that I’m not the only one with that problem. One of my teachers faxed in my rec and it’s showing up as “not started” still.
I’m sure it’s a Q paperwork backlog problem, and I doubt it will cause us any real inconveniences other than some added anxiety.

NYSpinner Dan, I sure hope we’re in the same club as you guys with the faxes!

Zens…all in one day…that’s wild…my daughter started on her essays in August! You truly do deserve some kind of award

all in one day???
And I thought I had it bad for not finishing everything for today.

Guess I’m in the bottleneck fax club as well haha.

MattsMomFL, yeah I know… I have a self proclaimed Ph.D. in procrastination. I’m sure that my essays aren’t as meticulously crafted as your daughter’s, but I was able to convey my message and address the prompts with what I felt was necessary. I need to learn to be more early :P. How many revisions has your daughter gone through? I’m sure there must be a point where she is satisfied with it, otherwise she and others may just be shredding it from its original beauty.

Man, it’s 12:49 here, and i’ve still got a load of hw left.
What are your guys’ match lists?

Just finished it, Best of luck to all of us ^_^

Zens…was not criticizing at all. I was actually in awe as it’s such an intimidating application. I’m sure if my daughter had waited this long, she would have ended up curled up in a fetal position in tears and never have finished. There’s a lot to be said for being able to accomplish something that daunting in one day. If you were interested, Im sure you would make a fine journalist. That’s basically the job description.

best of luck significa!

zens - daughter going for scripps, parsons, pomona, wellesley, vassar, bowdoin, emory & rice

QuestBridge

Sorry it took a while. I’ve been doing homework. I figure I’ll just wait for QB to process my teacher’s rec. I doubt they would penalize me for it. Good luck everyone.

Does anyone know if you’re not chosen as a finalist whether the application can still be forwarded to the colleges? And, of course an application with a one day late teacher’s rec, lol (hey, im laughing about it - that’s encouraging)

I’m doing, in order

Columbia
Brown
Princeton
Yale
Stanford

@MattsMomFL, I know you weren’t criticizing, but I just wanted to elaborate on the consequences for procrastinating :(. I’d rather not be a journalist, but somewhere along the lines of an engineer perhaps haha. I had most of the app done, but I was just thinking for topics to write my essays about and then they hit me.

Fine rankings! What is she interested in?

I’m probably going with Yale, Princeton, Pomona, MIT, U of Chicago. My options are limited though since I’m an international citizen, so I think that only the first three count.

Driscol thanks so much!
I’m going to fill it out.
That really makes me less nervous.

Where do you guys see an extension form???

zens…she wants biomedical photography. If the school she is accepted into will not let her create that major, she will double-major in biology & photography. The only one who offers a specific program is RIT. She may end up there if nothing comes thru with QB.

And, great choices for you. Another thing to love about Pomona - they give the scholarship to Internationals!

Click on the highlighted ‘Questbridge’ MattsM

Best of luck to her! It’s nice to know where you will be at next year by December. I’m sure we will all end up where we’re destined to be. For now, I can relax a bit, but I have to start working on the supplements before procrastination catches on again.

Good night to you all and good luck to the applicants!

Driscoll, I see it…thanks SOOOO much!!
