National College Match - 2009-2010

Everything submitted, recs completed, everything is in and confirmed except for school profile, which my counselor is faxing from her home. Does anyone know if that’d be a problem? I told her to attach something explaining that it is from her home and stuff.

Driscoll, if I may borrow a teenage colloquialism, ‘you are the bomb!’ Recommender extension requested!

Obstinate, that should be okay.

Can anyone tell me whether like the transcript, that it should read School Profile received at the bottom, because my daughter’s doesnt say anything. I was figuring that the guidance counselor may have sent it along with the recommendation, but now I am becoming concerned.

?If not Finalist -
Check each college on the QB Partner site for specifics.
Request forwarding QB App to each QB partner college on DD’s list.
(ie. scripps, parsons, pomona, wellesley, vassar, bowdoin, emory, rice)

?Finalist - (Good Luck!)
All good choices for DD’s MATCH.
Maybe slightly better chance to MATCH at LAC’s & Woman’s ??

Thank the good lord. Completed now appears next to the teacher’s name. If I was a drinker, Id have a shot of whiskey right about now…

My daughter is only interested in Parsons and actually may not even rank it, because she’s worried she would get full aid at her first choice school if she applied there (SAIC).

No whiskey MattsmomFl, but I am drinking a beer. Here’s to you!

I’m so glad I only had the one child so I didn’t have to repeat this. I can just sit back and feel everyone else’s angst.

Website just crashed.

Wow…what a night and thanks to whomever suggested we write questbridge. They read it and had the problem solved within 2 hours by changing the teacher’s password and pressing submit… QB is on top of it at 11pm tonight. Amazing. They are something else.

TrinSF, does SAIC have very good financial aid? That would be amazing. It’s not even on our radar becoz we figured art school - must have lousy aid.

GAMom…you must be loving this, lol. I cant wait to be in your shoes. This must be such an amazing thing to watch and help people along when you dont have the pressure of overseeing that everything is getting done!

Naru…a little while ago I was hoping that would happen so those of us with ‘issues’ might be blessed with another day. That happened last year and they did extend the deadline.

The site is down! Oh, Lord

matts, how will we know if it is extended or not. Will it be revealed tomorrow?

Gettocollege- yes, that’s exactly the thinking. Women’s colleges have higher acceptance rates and the match scholarship is so incredible that it’s worth the binding aspect and rolling the dice to see if she gets it.

akg, yes. also write them if there is something glitch-like…they responded to our issue and had it fixed within 2 hours.

Submission time: 1:30 EST. Thank God I submitted before the crash -_-

hm, I just need to copy and paste two of the essays in, but the site is not loading. should we keep trying or just email and wait until tomorrow?

I’m trying to submit my application but yeah no luck in getting in. damn busy servers :/

it’s back!

Keep trying guys. Last year, the same thing happened and they extended the deadline. Hopefully, they’ll have it fixed soon.

MattsMomFL: No, I don’t think any art school has “very good aid”, for our version of very good. (My son has a full ride at a top 20 LAC.) SAIC is a crap shoot. They loved her enough to find her a full tuition scholarship for this past summer’s precollege program, but it’s entirely possible they will gap her for aid come spring. Art schools are very scary, with regard to financial aid, but she has her heart set on that, and cannot bear the thought of suffering through a broad liberal arts curriculum.
