So I got a 220 in California. Cutoff was 221. /:

I didn’t really care about the money, just the admissions boost for HYPS. How much would it have helped?

Not much.

Minimal impact. All the PSAT proves is that you scored well on 1 sitting.

Think of it this way: If you were rejected, one of the last possible reasons is because you aren’t a semifinalist.

No way would you be rejected for not being a NMF (think of it this way, what if you were sick and missed the test :)?), but you missed the chance for the very, very nice, potentially full ride scholarships from NM partner schools.

^
There didn’t really seem like a great selection. Alabama and Baylor seemed like the best ones. Were there any others? I know Northwestern would have paid $500 per semester or something, but that’s not much.

Admissions impact is almost 0. Financial impact (if you go to Harvard) is modest also.
