National Merit Scholarship Question

Once the minimum score on the PSAT is established, where does it all go from there?
Other sources have been very vague as to how the rest of the process continues.

October of your junior year, you take the test. In Demberish (I think) you get the results. September of your senior year, you find out if you are commended or a semifinalist. You then submit an application, and find out if you are a finalist sometime between January and March I think. Then, a few months later, you find out if you actually won anything, and, if you did, submit your first choice college.

AFTER you make the initial cut to be a Semi-Finalist and AFTER you make the cut to be Finalist and AFTER all the corporations give their private scholarships to their picks:

Then, HOW does College Board decide WHO gets the official Merit scholarships remaining?

Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for.

Are the percentiles included on the score sheet national or state-based?

Percentiles on the scoresheet are national.

As for how NM selects the NM-sponsored scholarships - I’ve never seen anything written about how they make their selections.
