<p>What are the benefits of being a winner? Commended? Finalist? Is it worth the extra effort to study for the PSAT for this purpose? Live in NJ, bar is very high, just wondering if time would be better spent elsewhere…</p>
<p>it’s definitely worth it. i scored higher than any bar in all the states, it was still very easy, and now i’m looking at several universities that will give me four years completely free. not settling for anything less than a full ride. if you think you have a chance of getting national merit, go for it!!</p>
