Hi, I currently go to my state’s flagship university and hate it here. Although classes are good and my GPA is high, the social life sucks. I applied to transfer to an in-state LAC that is ranked better in almost every aspect of academics but has little to no recognition out of state, even little recognition in state. As an accounting major, would a national reputation outweigh academic ranking in finding employment?

If you hate your current school, you should transfer somewhere else regardless, whether to this LAC or somewhere else. Is the business program AACSB-accredited at this LAC? That is one sign it might be decent, for Accounting at least. I guess there is no option that you can afford, has a good reputation, and matches your personal college preferences?

Yeah, the school is accredited and the business program and accounting program is ranked better according to business week than the state university, the only thing is that the state university is alot more well known.

What are the schools?

Rutgers and The College of New Jersey

You should be fine at TCNJ it is a good school. Big 4 firms recruit everywhere and I would assume they recruit at TCNJ too.

They do recruit there, thanks for your help!
