Anyone else think it was just their janky phone? Turn it off and on a few times? Want to throw it against the wall?

Who hacked us? 
Maybe this explains so VERY odd cell phone activity in my family today.
One of the kids called and after chatting for awhile, we hung up. A few seconds later, my phone rang again showing kiddo’s number. When I answered with a “what’s up?”, someone unknown asked for my child saying he was returning their call. I called kiddo back about it and they had tried calling their partner but accidentally dialed me and immediately hung up. All quite strange… I guess crossed phone lines not FBI? 
Nope. But I have Verizon and H has AT&T.
When I notice something like this - last week it was my email provider - - I always google Is “fill in the blank” down. Usually get the answer yes, it is.
