my son is cherokee w/ tribal card. he’s QB and captain of his football team. he’s pretty good although he’s only about 5’9 and on a struggling team. currently he’s ranked 2nd out of 350. we live in oklahoma and he goes to a public school that is about 20% native american with 50% poverty. he only made 24 on his ACT but will take it again. what are his chances to maybe play sprint football and get into an ivy?

Student council, class officer, NHS, Spanish National Honor Society, has taken 5 years of Spanish, Science Club, NASA (Native American Student Association), GT,youth football coach for 5 years, is scheduled to take the SAT soon, any IVY I suppose–I don’t know that much about them. His English teacher and Princeton legacy recommended that he check out the sprint football

Whoa cool, I never knew something called sprint football (just googled it). Do you know if he can get recruited in sprint football? I don’t know if they have some ranking like Rivals.

i think so lol, but i’m just a mom so that’s why i’m here because I’m looking for answers. my son has taken 8 years of QB lessons and his coach has a QB at both Harvard and Princeton right now and he says my son is a more accurate QB just not as big. they are on the regular football teams not the sprint btw. I guess he could play either one but who knows?? Sprint does sound cool though besides my baby won’t get hit as hard as he does now playin big guy football, you know?

bd108…thanks. He was really disappointed in his ACT but he is working very hard to increase his score the next time he tests. He is actually being recruited by some smaller colleges right now. he blew out his ACL at the beginning of his junior year so he has very little stats to speak of. He’s healed up great and looks strong in summer league and he’s so excited to finally get to play. But to answer your question…he wants to be a dentist like his uncle and loves science. A navy recruiter met with us last week and said he was a “shoe-in” for their ROTC scholarship which would pay up to $180,000 to pretty much anywhere he wants to go. They said they would also pay every cent of his dental school and even pay him living expenses (around $350,000 total). Of course, he would “owe” 4-8 years as an officer, but that’s no biggie to him (maybe to momma though). Suggestion or any other advice/options we should check out?
