Natural gas vs chemicals...T Boone Pickens vs the Koch Brothers

Or, BC they can modify existing plants (scrubbers) to make them more environmentally friendly.

We don’t know what is fueling the fracking hysteria but we can smell it 15 miles away. Our water has been tested by the DEP, EPA and many environmental groups, no fracking chemicals, sorry.

Collegekidsmom…you can smell the chemicals 15 miles away?

I think that you still have a lot of chemicals produced by diesel as opposed to NG. Ideally, they’d go to fuel cells so that they don’t have to waste all of that heat energy.

dstark…seriously? No, of course one couldn’t.

Seriously…I am just reading your last post…

Sorry, I reread my post and I wasn’t being clear. The only thing we smell, hear, see and drink is hysteria from the haters.

Lucky you, ckm. You don’t include the world.

The Pickens Plan car that runs on CNG is parked in the garage of the building where he and I office. He (TBP) has a (beautiful) V-12 MB. I am not aware that anyone on the 3rd Floor (he has the whole 3rd floor) drives anything other than a gasoline vehicle.

I asked him once on the elevator if it was possible to get from Dallas to Colorado Springs using only a CNG vehicle. He said not yet.

He likes dogs and brings his dog to the office. His wife likes horses.

He seems to be willing to work with either party. We Sarah P came to the building last election to visit him, it was a logistical nightmare for the other tenants.

When a bunch of really nervous men in suits and roller cases get on the elevator and punch “3” I look at them and ask–you into hot air or natural gas? Occasionally it gets a smile.

xiggi-- TBP seems to be more a hustler of the old school. You, St.M’ radical? NOT!

Haha – is Murdock still the top dog at TBP?

The woman in the office who takes the dog out for walks told me within the last 5 or 6 months that this is a “new” dog. I think the “top dog” now at TBP may be Murdock II.

Did you have Steve Seay for Chemistry?

Apologies for a repeat, but Honda makes a Civic that runs on CNG. The problem isn’t as much the vehicle as having a dense network of CNG stations. Many (if not most) of these are owned by Pickens. Since there’s not much competition, Clean Energy’s prices aren’t set by the market but by the monopoly. IMO Pickens missed a golden opportunity to dramatically expand CNG vehicle use by not allowing CNG prices to drop way, way low.

The Pickens Plan car is a Honda. And, yes, the “problem” about going from Dallas to Colorado Springs was the lack of places to get CNG. I was a liitle surprised that there wasn’t somewhere in Amarillo to get it since it was approximately 1/2 way, but I’m not sure how TBP feels about Amarillo any more.

I didn’t, but had plenty of interactions with this legendary teacher. I think I had classes in photography, earth science, and astronomy. He died way too young!

Tell me. He was St M class of 1968 and I was class of 1968 at HP where his other brother(s) attended. I know several guys from his St M’s class. I understand there was a big turnout for the funeral.
