I did some digging around on behalf of the “what are my chances” readers and posters, and found that there are some backdoors into the Naviance scattergrams for various high schools. Subscribing high schools have the option to make their site available to guests; some do, some don’t.

For starters, though, here is an old thread on College Confidential with about a dozen viable Naviance entrances:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/245650-naviance.html
Go to posting #55 by chocoholic to see the list (and just read the thread itself if you don’t already know anything about Naviance).

The links that have “tcci” are mostly viable, but the ones that start with “connection” are all dead ends. I found two useful for SMU: one high school in Irving TX, and another high school, Kincaid, in Houston (Kincaid is not in this posting #55 however, and I can’t remember right now where I saw it, but I did find it on CC last night; maybe one of you can come up with it). Both of these schools have quite a few students who apply to SMU each year.

Now I’d like to ask for your help: If your school has Naviance and offers a guest sign-in option, would you please post a link and password to us? You probably won’t know the guest password offhand, so just call the guidance office to get it.

Aside from Naviance, there are great scattergrams going back several years for SMU on the collegedata dot com website (go to Admissions Tracker, and please add your own profile while you’re there). Thanks.
