I am nominated for french for NC Governor’s School, but I am scared I won’t get in. While I am very qualified in French, I am lacking outstanding extra-curriculars. I have the highest GPA of m class and I have taken the hardest classes offered at my school. I scored 99% on the aptitude test. I have received my school’s French award 2 years in a row, in addition to the German award. I scored 1st in the state on the National french exam for levels 2-3, and 1st in the state on the national german exam for level 3. So I am not concerned at all for my ability in French, I am just scared that I don’t have enough extracurriculars:
I have played 2 sports a year
I spent the summer as a teacher’s assistant at freedom school
I’m not a leader in any of the clubs I am a part of
National Honor society, Math Honor society
I have tutored students
I help train Special Olympics athletes
I do Model UN
And I have done countless other community service activities during the past 3 years.

What should I write about in my essays that will give me a better chance of getting in?
