NC State 2024 Admission Thread

I had my D20 check and hers just had a list of green checkmarks. Nothing that says ‘submitted’. She also has a separate portal for Park Scholar and that does say ‘submitted’ and has a link to view her application.

I had a memory pop up on fb today showing that my daughter was accepted into NCSU on this date 6 years ago, I hate that they have moved their date.

I know. We have heard back from 7 of the 8 schools applied to. Waiting on the most important one is hard.

@ITBgirl , only green check marks for Son’s portal. Nothing that says “submitted” or anything else like that.

I’m waiting anxiously to hear back from the college of design since I’ve heard that in the past they send out decisions before Christmas

same here!! trying to transfer in, and i know they released decisions last year for COD on december 20th. @oxfordcomma27

Hey I am thinking of applying to NCSU in regular decision as a international student(India) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Can anyone tell if my chances of selection at NCSU is even more slim than OOS applicants as I have heard that they give admissions to only a few OOS applicants. My sat score is 1420 and really want to be aware of my chances at NCSU. Any sort of information would be highly appreciable.

I don’t know about anyone else, hopefully this helps anyone feeling anxious about hearing back but I just got invited to the Admissions Review day! I got a notification through email, no change in my wolfpaw account.

Me too!!! I’m pretty sure this means I’m into the actual university itself.

@oxfordcomma27 from what i’ve heard and asked around, it means that you got accepted into the university and that the COD has a strong interest in you. they do the admissions day to get a feel for your personality, since it’s such a small program. that’s what current students have told me.

Just got my invitation to Admissions Review day for COD!
I am a Wake Tech Community College student getting my associate in fine arts. So excited to go to review day. Been working so hard to get here and I would love to go to my #1 choice school. Plus I already live down the street so it would make life easier–no car needed!

@designeritb yay! I’ve already RSVP’d for the 18th. I am still in shock

So if you didn’t get an email from nc state about admissions review day, you didn’t get in? I didn’t apply to COD btw?

@Lilmelo Admissions Review Day is particularly a COD event. Keep looking out for your admissions decision–it will likely come later! From what I have gathered, it could arrive later this month. If you don’t hear about it, send an email to admissions and they will tell you what’s up.

@oxfordcomma27 congrats!! Get some practice in talking about design and your portfolio. You got this!!

@oxfordcomma27 @designeritb do you guys know if we have to bring in the 10 pieces we submitted with our application, plus 5 new pieces, or if we can pick and choose which ones we bring from the application i.e. have only two repeats from when you submitted slideroom and 13 new pieces or no repeats and 15 new? you get the point.

@student0206 I’m gonna start a new thread for COD 2024 and reply to your question there!

If you are not COD, you won’t hear anything until around Jan 24. I have a current NCSU sophomore and a HS senior applying this year.

@designeritb okay cool, good idea.

@Theunknown286 - NC has a high In-state mandate, over 80%. So you’d be competing for only under 20% of available spots. 1420, as an Asian, might not get you into CoE even if you’re In-state, in most cases. Obviously, you’ll never be accepted unless you apply, but to be perfectly honest, your chances are not very good.

What are my chances at NC State University as an in-state resident for management information technology major with a 3.39 weighted GPA and 1390 SAT for EA?
