For the Waitlisted students, I was reading around on forums and other social media sites. A lot of sources say <1% of students were admitted from the waitlist in 2018. Of course every year is different, but many recommended to exercise plan B/other options. Kinda sad to wait this long for a final decision only to see waitlist/deferral/denial

She has lots of other OOS options with significant merit $, so pulled herself off the waitlist. Not sure what NCSU is thinking waitlisting so many great, competitive studentsā¦

@mbgaff1 thank you! Her intended major was Biology. Yeah, I think there were too many kids from Wake County. She has friends who got into UNC-CH, but were waitlisted at NCSU. Kind of crazy.
anyone else have no decision at all on their portal? and no email ? DS got a letter and portal link from EA but then it disappeared thursday and that that was the end of it. emailed and they said they would look into it

DS accepted to Exploratory Studies too! Deferred EA. OOS He orginally applied to ES because although he likes math, science, economics he is unsure what exactly he wants to do. Does anyone know what the ES classes are like for Freshman year? Are they large? Online? We do like they have a living-learning community for ES.

Congrats to all that got accepted. Still sad my daughter didnāt. Such a great experience at State with my son that I was hoping she would get in. She is headed to JMU but who knows maybe she will be able to transfer to State after a year.
@mbgaff1 I bet she will be very happy at JMU.
I hate my son didnāt get in first round, the wait gave him time to get excited about other schools. I think NCSU is a great school and it was a reach for him, so it is hard to let it go, but honestly he has a few friends that are transferring out of NCSU, it is very large and isnāt a good fit for everyone.
