I attend high school in North Carolina, and I have a huge decision to make. I have received instate tuition at Clemson and NC State.I aspire to be a dentist (I want to attend dental school at UNC- Chapel Hill), and I was accepted as a biological sciences major at both universities. I have grown up a Clemson fan and my father’s side of the family has all attended Clemson. Any insight on either of these universities is greatly appreciated as the deadline is in T-4 days.
I personally would go with NCSU for the sole reason of RTP (Research Triangle Park) relations between universities. Many people don’t realize that UNC and NCSU (and also Duke) are “buddies” when it comes to academics (whether or not any students would admit to it). Look at last year’s Nobel Prize winners in chemistry. The two men were a pair from Duke and UNC that worked together. At any RTP school you can take a class on either of the other two campuses free of charge each semester. If you really want to go to UNC graduate school than I would suggest NCSU for undergraduate so there is already some connection.
You like Clemson…same price, go to Clemson. It’s a slightly more respected school, & a passionate love for your college can keep you going during a 3 a.m. study session when a lesser passion would allow u to go to sleep.
