NCAA Archery questions

For one of my students:

Junior Olympic eligible; “B” student

I am under the assumption, albeit questionable, that this is not a recruited sport and that any school that is strong in this area picks their team after admissions…

That is, there is no admissions bump for even the strongest of candidates…

If this is not the case, please educate me and post which are the schools which are strongest for archery…

We already have Texas A+M, USC and JMU…student has been talking to coaches at those schools

Thanks!

Columbia fields a women’s team and has a link to recruiting info on their site. I don’t know if archery recruits are given any sort of admissions bump

I’ll venture to say that as a non-revenue sport you have to recruit yourself and that the in-coming talent has been identified and tracked from your teenage years. As far as an admission bump, yeah it’s probably a nice line item discussion topic, but from the athletic side of that it probably isn’t a deal breaker in determining admissions.

But you never know.
