I’m currently a 10th grader and plan on applying to NCSSM this year. This coming summer, I will also be working as a lab assistant to a University professor. I believe this would be a key factor in my application, that would help my admission chances out, but since I will only be working as an assistant AFTER I apply to NCSSM, would it be wrong to add this to my application, since it hasn’t yet happened? Is there any way I could put this on my application? (I really would like to add it to my application, because it would really help out my chances.)
I’m applying to NCSSM this year too! I have been a science research assistant at 4 year University since I was 12 or 13 yo so I will include that and my experiences in the lab. If I had not worked in the lab yet, then I would not include it because it would not be true. However, you can show your motivation for science/research by mentioning that you have a lab assistant position lined up for the summer. Good luck!
Oh yeah, we have a NCSSM Class of 2018 - Future Applicants thread setup here if you want to post and interact: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/1779922-ncssm-class-of-2018-future-applicants-p1.html
