NCSSM year of 2027

I am currently a freshman from CD2 district.
My freshman courses
Honors English 1
Spanish 2
Honors World History
Honors Math 2
Honors Math 3
Python
Honors Biology
Health/PE(mandatory)

For my sophomore year I am planning on the below:-

Honors Chemistry
AP Chemistry
AP Precalc
AP Statistics
AP psychology or AP world history
Spanish 3
Honors English 2
AP Computer Principles

I am in a dilemma now because my teacher approached me to do year book. It will be a year long course- which means I have to let go 2 choices above AP statistics or AP Computer Principles or AP Chemistry.

I love all the choices and I couldnt decide especially because NCSSM wants course rigor and I am from a competitve CD.

Will it look bad if I choose Yearbook over 2 AP cources for NCSSM?

Please help!

Not just for the NCSSM , for the rigor AP courses will be much better … For the GPA AP courses count as 5 and then you will get credit for them in college , do as many AP courses as possible , but keep in mind that you need only those which will give you credit

College admissions have become very competitive and some of the NC Schools are not offering AP courses and which is a concern , I am not sure what year book has any value at all

thanks

No, I don’t think it would matter if you drop a couple of those courses, but it would probably be between AP Precalc, AP Stats, and AP Computer Principles. I’d recommend dropping the last two. Many NC schools don’t have that many AP classes to choose from and some don’t allow sophomores to take APs. I think you will be ok either way. If you want to do yearbook do it!
