<p>I’m really freaking out about being deferred, because if I am, I probably won’t get in because I took on a really tough schedule for my fall semester, and I’m struggling. I applied for Civil Engineering, and State is my first choice.

<p>The only drawback to my application is my TERRIBLE SAT score (1140 combined R & M). I have a 3.7 UW GPA and a 4.6 W GPA, and I’m 10/193 in my class, with plenty of EC’s. People are telling me that I have an advantage by being African American, but I don’t think the Admissions Office will look past my horrible SAT score. I’m taking the test again in January, but the scores will not be in on time. Someone chance/help me?</p>
