Hello, this thread is eerily quiet. Any others waiting on Park Scholarship notifications? This is a first experience for us so not sure when semi-finalist notifications go out. My kid probably has a 50/50 shot, not expecting it, but would be a fun surprise to move on to the next round and get an early acceptance.
Same!!!
Good luck! Will update, if anything comes his way.
My son just got accepted at NCState college of engineering for Fall 26. Surprised it came out so early!
Are you in state or out of state? Congratulations!
Not sure of this person’s status, but I saw last year on different threads that the College of Design comes out in December and International Students are notified on a rolling basis but domestic EA for all non design majors comes out later. Also, last year, Park scholar hopefuls were notified of status updates on 12/17, so maybe today is the day for that group. I do wonder if NC State plans on moving up their notifications for in-state EA since UNC is doing that this year. Fingers crossed.
Yes. International student. Only 22% acceptance rate for intl students at NC state based on the CDS data. Son is really happy he made it.
This may be a function of ensuring they have enough time to apply for visas/ travel documents / immunization records etc. When dealing with government agencies it’s always a good idea to start early!
My son received his Park Scholarship update in his portal a few minutes ago. No email yet. Just checked his portal and it was there. He was invited to semi-finalist round. In-state, 4.0uw, 1540 sat, lots of leadership, sports, some service(weakest point, nothing stand out in this pillar). But overall, well-rounded and hard working.
FYI: Park Scholarship update just appeared in my son’s portal.
Hi. Congrats to your son. My daughter didn’t make it but that’s ok! I think her SAT was too low at 1470. Are you in state? We are OOS.
Just saw in another group that NC State is releasing in-state decisions tomorrow, so I guess they are following suit with UNC. Makes sense since they always release on the same day, but it makes the waiting that much harder for those of us out of state. I do hope they continue with their late Jan release for out of state since UNC says Feb…
Yes, this is also in our calendar. Not sure if all in-state or only in-state. Their announcement said that they will release some decisions tomorrow and the rest in January.
Thank you! Sorry about your kiddo. We’re in-state, which probably helps. I think it’s partly luck, and although he made the cut, he knows there is a very slim chance to make it all the way to the end. Good luck to your D in the rest of this process. That’s a great score - no doubt she’s headed for wonderful things!
So this is expected to be for more than just Park Scholarship kids and College of Design?
Yes, the wording from NC State says they plan to release a portion of EA. Initial release is primarily in-state applicants and then a small group of applicants considered for Park. It goes on to say, the release only represents a portion of EA applicants. Students who applied EA and do not receive a decision by 12/19, are still under full consideration. The majority of EA are still pending and will be released 1/30, including those for many highly qualified candidates. They probably felt they needed to keep up with the new UNC early application. Wonder if that was a sneaky surprise for them when UNC announced that earlier this year ![]()
I just wonder why they’re waiting until now to announce this though, since UNC announced it months ago? Unless they just weren’t sure if they’d be ready to do a release now?
Yeah, I don’t know. That’s a good guess. They get more in-state applications, according to NC insight last year close to 6,700 more. I don’t know how that shakes out for EA, but they most likely have more applications to sift through, so it’s probably harder for them to meet the earlier deadline.
