Does anyone know where I could get those necklaces Frank gives women in Catch Me If You Can?

Lawl, Hollywood seduction tactics rarely work half as well in the real world.

If it actually worked, it would work with any necklace.

Anyone else ****ed that they’re making it into a musical? That is a terrible idea.

I love the movie, and when I heard it was being made into a musical I was iffy…But then I heard that it was amazing, so I don’t really know what to believe…

It was a great movie. If it’s done right, it will be a great musical.

It would have made a good serious play. However, a musical just sounds like a terrible idea. It was way too serious of a movie for that.

But it was a damn good movie. And it’s not like he had a bad life after being caught. Pretty inspiring. I hear it’s a great book, too.

I think a musical would be awful, but then again I think that about most musicals.

That irritated me a lot, actually.

Why, who did he hurt? He just took money from banks. And he has a good life now because he actually helps the government catch check-forgers, so he has prevented far more fraud than he ever perpetrated.

Gotta love the Skyway Man.

And pretending to be a doctor? Yeah, no way that anyone could have gotten hurt there.

“Do you concur?”

…

“Damn it, why didn’t I concur?”

There were other doctors there at least.

Loved that part.

I have to admit that that was lolzy.

Still stupid, though. Someone could’ve been killed.

He never actually practiced anything… when he was a pilot he just flew as a guest on other airlines… when he was a lawyer he actually passed the bar so legally he could practice… and when he was a doctor he was just in a managerial position
Lol I know what you mean tho

Someone did actually get hurt in real life under the real him, and because of him too.

It bothers me when people prejudge musicals without having seen them or listened to the cast recording. CMIYC has a REALLY strong cast and it’s been cleaned up a lot since it had that Seattle premiere they did summer 2009. Given that it’s by the creators of Hairspray on Broadway, I think it will do well. It won’t sweep the Tonys (though I wouldn’t rule out Tveit and Leo Butz for leading/supporting actors quite yet) given that Book of Mormon is doing so well, but I think it will run much longer than your average bear on Broadway transferring in from out of town (i.e The Scottsboro Boys).

I’m not saying musicals in general are bad; many can be good. I am just saying that the plot, dialogue, and overall feel of Catch Me If You Can seems to be incompatible with being a good musical. I would surely see it if it were a dramatic play, but all the characters singing would just be really weird. It seems like someone just wanted to make more money off a successful book/movie.

^^completely agreed. I was open to the idea of a musical until I read your comment and thought about how in the world they could possibly do any of that story in song.
Of course I could be totally wrong. They could have found a way to make it a serious musical. It would have to differ substantially from the movie, though
