Haven’t talk to my father in five years …but got admitted to Richmond and need to fill out a non custodial parent profile… Has anyone had this problem ? How hard was it to get a wavier?

Has your father paid child support? Do you know where he is?

he pays imminently … but if i do find him i dont think he will pick up the phone never-mind fill out the form …

im·mi·nent (m-nnt) adj.
About to occur; impending

??

intermittently haha

Contact the school about getting it waived. Most schools have a form you have to fill out. It’s basically some info, a personal statement, a custodial parent statement, and then a statement from a third-party (your school, a social worker, your doctor, etc.) which verifies that you have no contact with your non-custodial parent.

I had to go through this very process when applying this year. It’s not too bad; didn’t take me long at all.

If he’s paying child support, even if the payments are only intermittent, it’s unlikely you’ll get a waiver. The waiver doesn’t apply to parents who are simply unwilling to help - it’s for parents who are completely out of the picture.

That having been said, it can’t hurt to try. As noted above, you’ll need the statement of a non-family member who can attest to your lack of contact with him. Someone who knows your family and understands the situation - social worker, physician, school official, or minister, for example.

Or court docs if your mom has filed for child support enforcement, I imagine.
