Need a Superbowl Team

My H’s first cousin lives in Baltimore, and guess where her brother lives? Yes! San Fran!

Oy, glad we’re staying out of it this year. Probably going to pick Ravens because of the movie, “Blindside”, but usually I go for the underdog, whichever team that is.

I LOVE watching football, but more so when my team is playing. Love having superbowl food, too! No diets that day! I don’t host parties anymore since it’s so much work and I enjoy watching the game uninterrupted!

Baltimore Ravens because we have family in Baltimore and they are underdogs. I love the momentum turn around from the poor end of regular season to now. I like Flacco, Oher, and Ray Lewis. I am concerned about the recent deer antler news, but the commentary I heard was that Lewis has not failed a drug test. Based on Lewis’ leadership and philanthropy now, I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

To be fair, many, many of the players on both (all!) teams have shady episodes or questionable comments to the press. Sadly, it’s hard to find a team to root for because many of these players are egomaniacal yakkers and/or think they can do whatever they want because of who they are.

The reason Ray Lewis has not failed a drug test is that there is no test for what he is taking.

just like lance and epo in dour de swiss. if they do retro active testing in the nfl, then ray’s going to someday explain that he lied. karma’s a b1tch

I mean just look at the evidence! <a href=“Ray Lewis Denies Taking Deer-Based Performance Drugs | CONAN on TBS - YouTube”>Ray Lewis Denies Taking Deer-Based Performance Drugs | CONAN on TBS - YouTube;

spectastic - that’s a great clip!

I’m in Baltimore so it’s Ravens all the way! Great comeback story. Ray Rice, Michael Oher - great backstories. Joe Flacco underdog. No comparison between the passion of the fans - San Fran weak soup in that regard. There are surely Ray Lewis haters, but most don’t know the facts or assume facts never proved. The deer antler thing is truly a joke.

Fact - obstruction of justice
Fact - his bloody clothing went “missing”
Fact - he testified against his friends in return for a reduced charge
Fact - has paid millions to families of the victims to avoid civil judgements
Fact - 6 children by 4 different women
Fact - the guy is a fraud

Still no evidence of guilt and a heckuva comeback story.

lammb66, Steelers fans I know are rooting for the Ravens because they don’t want the 49ers to get a 6th Super Bowl victory, thus tying the Steelers for most. Although I live in Pittsburgh, I am NOT a Steelers fan, and feeling fairly neutral about this one, maybe leaning a little toward the Ravens because I feel sorry for the way Alex Smith lost his starting job.

Go into it rooting like the Harbaughs’ parents:

“GO TEAM”

Cartera45, everything I listed is a documented fact.

Lol, kei. I don’t envy them. What do you do first steer the game? Console the loser, congratulate the winner?

Although. I guess it’s not a bad problem to have.

Niners here.

Jim Harbaugh’s a Michigan man (John played at Miami U).

Spent some time in the SF Bay area and still have a fondness for it.

Didn’t like how the Browns (now Ravens) sold out on the city of Cleveland–though you can’t entirely blame Baltimore which had the same thing happen to them with the Colts some years earlier.

Iron Maiden, we can’t try him here, but there was testimony that Lewis tried to break up the fight which could explain any blood evidence. There was a lot of contradictory testimony but there was nothing they could point to Lewis as the killer. They didn’t even have enough evidence to try him. It is not a fact that there were bloody clothes. There was testimony and no clothes were found. Paying to make civil suits go away is not evidence of guilt and neither is testifying against others. Even with that testimony, they couldn’t convict anyone. One of the guys who was killed started the fight by breaking a champagne bottle over someone’s head and all hell broke loose. Credible witnesses were in short supply.
