Need Advice for Good Econ Programs Based on My Stats

What Else I am looking for:

  6. Affordable… Max is 20k/year…</p>

<p>(Please Note: Half of this post is completely fantasy, I am currently a Junior in HS and am on track to do all of this, I just want to see where these stats would put me, Thanks :))</p>

<p>From previous posts you already know the good econ programs out there. Do you think you will qualify for need based aid or do you need merit aid?</p>

<p>my family makes combined around $90-100k a year… we are not poor by any means but paying more than $20k a year would be out of our budget…</p>

<p>Pointoforder, While those are all great schools I don’t think they offer much merit aid (I know Carleton only offers $2K for NMF). I would look at slightly lower tier schools for merit aid. Denison, Grinnell, Beloit, Case Western, Ohio State if you want the large D1 school feeling.</p>

<p>Erin’s Dad, I agree they aren’t merit aid schools, but that doesn’t mean that they won’t be affordable to the poster. In fact these schools are among the nation’s handful (25 or so) most generous colleges in terms of aid. Based on the information from the o.p. about family income and ability to contibute something towards colleges, I think it is likely that those schools will provide great financial aid packages.</p>

<p>For example, at Williams College those with family income of $75,000 to $99,999 receive aid on average of $32,330 a year. Lots of factors go into the determination, but some in that band receive aid of up to $45,851. The same is true at Haverford, Bowdoin, and others. So, I don’t think the o.p. should rule those schools out.</p>
