Need Advice-Is this appropriate?

I’ve seen this tried and I have not seen it work.

I also just don’t think there’s a one-and-only-true-love college out there for applicants. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of great fit colleges for most applicants.

Regarding the bottom 25 percent composition - those will often be applicants who have serious hooks (athletics, wealthy legacy, etc).

calmom, I appreciate all your feedback and positive comments. I agree with the poker analogy as well. My D knew that she was never going to get top SAT/ACT scores, she just seems to panic and overthink in those types of settings. She wanted to go to an LAC but her profile would limit her here in the Northeast. We decided to look out of the NY/NJ/CT area to schools where her state of residence and diversity would benefit out of region schools that needed both. As a result we found several outstanding LAC’s in different regions of the country that are interested in her. If she lived in those states, she may not hold the same appeal. She does not care about the travel. I think the strategy worked in our case. You have to play to your strengths

Well, didn’t No Child Left Behind promise that all student would be above average by 2010?

Pizzagirl and calmom, I don’t usually say this, but…LOL!
