Hi, I am a junior in high school and am wondering if my current stats will make me a competitive applicant to these schools.

UChicago

Northwestern

Swarthmore

Penn State Schreyer

PA resident.
Competitive public school.
96/100 Cumulative GPA, will probably increase by 2-3 percent by senior year.
Have not taken SATI’s yet, PSAT scores were (78 Math, 80 CR, 56 Writing).
ECs(work experience, volunteering/internships) are decent but not spectacular.

Thanks in advance.

I think if you boosted your writing score, you would be a match for Northwestern. However, Chicago does not look at writing, although you would need to write spectacular essays to get in. Given that your SAT scores look like your PSAT scores, I would say:

Chicago - low reach
Northwestern - high match
Swarthmore - low reach
Penn State - In

bump. What should I do between now and December to increase my chances of getting into those schools?

Gosh, if your SAT turns out like your PSAT with a higher Writing, you’ll get into all those schools !!

Good job and good luck ! :]

Like said before, get your writing up and your stats will probably get you into any of these schools.
