As a Macaulay Honors college student, you will receive the University Scholarship, which funds full tuition for four years of full-time undergraduate study.

Is Macaulay Honors College open to out of city and out of state residents?
Yes. Macaulay Honors College welcomes applicants from New York and around the world. All students receive the same scholarship package, including Full Undergraduate Tuition Scholarship (excludes fees), whether or not they are New York state residents.

Look at Pacific University, Forest Grove OR. Small college. Beautiful location. Needs more male students. Offers some great opportunities for top students.

Hope you can get on this quickly - I guess you are a senior? I saw some December application dates. With your interests, an urban school might be nice for internship purposes.

Try to be super humble in the process (i.e. apply to schools where you think you could be happy, but where you might think you are over-qualified). The more your file would be a stand-out on that campus, the greater the odds are that they will give you a full ride.

Full rides are a big deal, and in this economy, a lot of people want them. If you must have a full ride, or an almost full ride, none of these schools will be a safety for you. Every school you apply to will be a reach in this situation. Still, you sound like a really great candidate, so I bet you will do well.

Well, look into them a bit and see if you would be happy at the school before applying. I’m sure you knew that already. :)

As a Texas resident, I think your best move might be to apply to UT Austin. There is a lot of information on CC in that school’s forum about some deal where you can, if rejected, go to a CC for two years and then have an automatic admit. Your in-state tuition for UT will be soooo low. You can finance it with loans. What is it, like $8000 or something? You could pay your way through CC, and then be $16,000 in debt? That’s probably the best deal.

Then again, if you again if you can get into a nice, small private school, you could go for two years and then transfer to UT if you can definitely keep your grades up (or just stay at the private). You could apply to the UT schools as a back up of some sort, as the CC to auto-admit deal is great.

^
Unfortunately, UT’s admission deadline for fall 2011 has passed (it was Dec. 1). However, most other Texas publics and privates are still accepting apps.

Yeah I don’t really want to go to UT-Austin. I’ve lived in this city for 18 years. I think it would be better to go off somewhere else, you know? But i am applying to UTSA in hopes they might give me some serious cash

Check out Berea College, just outside of Lexington, KY and, if you don’t mind being in a very rural area, there is Alice Lloyd College, in Pippa Passes, KY
