Need Guidance for my freshmen year son

Hello All,
My son is in the freshman year in Katy,Tx.
I am looking for some kind of information about summer school. He wants to go for engineer stream line. When I checked on website UTAustin are offering few programs in the villa ratio of few more university .
Can somebody help me out … That how and which program would be really helpful for him to get an admission in IV leAgue colleagues .
I want him to pursue something very interesting as well as developing his strength.

So your son is a freshman in HS?
Is he looking for summer school or some kind of summer program?
If he wants to be an engineer, make sure he is on track with Math to at least be taking Calculus by Senior year of HS.
So he may need to catch up on math if the didn’t take Algebra 8th grade.

I would not worry about Ivy League colleges at this point…no summer program is going to get him into one.
He should be doing something this (and every) summer…working, learning, but not sitting home and playing video games.

Google “high school summer programs near houston tx” and there are many programs. Also see if there are some at your local community college, e.g.

Thx

^Actually, his summer shouldn’t be spent working/learning all day long, but should be spent doing activities, since THAT too is part of the questions he may have for college admissions (he could ride his skateboard, go to the pool/the beach/the lake, it doesn"t matter as long as it involved non-competitive fun.) It’s also important for appropriate development and just normal for kids in the summer!
Reading 5 books of personal choice (fiction, non fiction, comics/graphic novels) is recommended.
Check out if there’s a NASA summer camp in Houston.
