<p>Hi. I’m designing a primer for the sRx (sulfiredoxin) protein. I’ve been trying to use ensembl.org for the past hour or two, and I’m pretty much lost. Does anyone know how to design a primer? I’ve looked up a few tutorials, but none actually explain how to design one using the internet. Please PM me or anything…I really need the help.</p>

<p>it depends on what the primer is for. If it’s for standard PCR, then the easiest way is to just do a pubmed search for published ones, so you know they work. For real time PCR, it’s best to use the primer design software that comes with the machine (most have this), as there are many subtle variations from model to model.</p>
<p>I just tried pubmed, and found quite a bit. However, I didn’t see anything published. What would it be called?</p>
