Need Help - English Grammar Mistake?

I originally posted this in SAT test prep, but got no responses. I’m wondering if this sentence is grammatically correct: “This incident soon led to my breaking of the bone.”

or is there an error?

Dont see a direct object here. Is spanish your native language ?

Grammatically correct although awkward because the “of” is not necessary and the “the” implies that you may have intentionally broken a particular bone. Better would be “my breaking a bone” but if question is simply asking whether the sentence standing alone passes the grammar test, it does.
