Need help finding a college

I want to go to a small college (5000 undergrads or less) where there is a close- knit community feel and supportive peers in a rural environment (basically in the middle of nowhere like SUNY Geneseo). Most desirable would be a school within 5 hours of nyc. I want to major in biology or biochem with the plan of going to med school. I earned a 1400 on new SAT, have a 4.0 GPA & great ECs. I want to be in the top 20-25% of the college so that I have a good chance at getting into med school. Please help!!

Mount Holyoke College (women’s): also a part of the Five College Consortium with Amherst, U Mass Amherst, Smith, and Hampshire, so you you have a small campus with opportunities to take a range of classes at other schools.

Hamilton: spectacular campus, certainly an isolated location, is very competitive.

Good luck!

Based on the selective admissions at many desirable colleges, this might be your most difficult preference to meet if your standardized testing were the only unit of measurement. Nonetheless, you may want to look into St. Lawrence (somewhat farther from NYC than 5 hours), at which you might fall into this range. Based on your excellent GPA, your options would be broader though.
