Need help finding a good private school

Hi! I’m new to this site. I have been looking around and I can’t find a specific type of school that I’d like to apply to. I would like a private school that is generally big that is NOT liberal arts focused. I’d prefer that the school was in a big city or a suburb of a big city. I like the west coast and the east coasts mainly. I am hoping to have a major more focused in the maths and sciences. My dillema is that I’m applying to Wash U in St. Louis and Tufts, which are mostly reach schools, and Boston U, which is a target/safe school but I don’t really like the no-campus aspect of the school.

I’m also applying to plenty of public schools but I’d like to add just one more target private school to my list. My unweighted GPA is 3.66 (although I like to think that I’m smarter than that). My highest SAT’s are 800 in math, 600 in reading, 690 in writing. I got a 32 on my ACT, with a 31 subscore for writing. my SAT II’s are a 710 in math II and a 690 biology-m.

So please help me in finding a few good private schools that I can further reasearch to and hopefully apply to! Thank you.

Sounds like you are looking for Tech schools- Carnegie Melon comes to mind. Do some research on the collegeboard site for Tech schools.

How about University of Miami?

Brandeis, Holy Cross(building new science facility).

U. of Rochester, Case Western Reserve U., R.P.I., Tulane

Try Saint Louis University

Rochester, Tulane, and Miami could be good.

Thank you all!

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, 1 hour from Boston.

Villanova?

Cornell, Caltech, Stanford
