Need help finding a quote!

Okay so i am writing my essay about how I’m on a board of of governing body for my sport, and i didn’t really talk at first since it was me, a teenager, and all other adults. And there was this issue and i happened to speak up it. In it i want to show that i am a leader, but i want to start off with a quote? Please help!

You can find many great ones that fit your essay if you spend like a minute on Google.

I mean i already did that…

starting with a quote is really cliche–the readers will have read essays and heard wedding/graduation/etc. speeches that start with quotes hundreds of times already. you don’t want to start your essay in a boring and common way. use your own words.

Alright well one i am pretty sure youre not an admissions officer, two thats what i want to do, and third that in now way shape or form answered my question so…

Bump

This is very good advice.

Always find your own words.

Here’s a quote showing how being the youngest might be an advantage in leadership because the older guys can talk more openly and freely with you:

Or, in a lighter vein, showing how the young can lead because they don’t know they can’t do something:

Here’s one, demonstrating a journey - learning to lead by speaking up:

With all respect to digmedia, I think that in the more impressive essay the writer expresses such sentiments in his own words–indeed, does not “tell” the sentiments at all, but shows them–rather than using someone else’s “coattails” as a substitute for their own clear thinking and expression.

^^^ Totally agree…

Honestly dont preach to me something i do not want to hear
