I am from Nepal and will be applying in the fall of 2006. My old SAT scores are verbal - 760 and maths - 670. I am above average in my graduating class and have good extracariculars as well. I am doing my A levels in Maths, Pyschology, Economics (majors) and English literature & language, Sociology (minors).

I have looked at various colleges that offer Business management for undergrad and give substantial sums of need based scolarship to intl. students and shortlisted these schools

Gettysburg college

Franklin and Marshall college

Washington and Lee Univ.

Trinity Univ.

Georgetown

Bucknell

Wake forest

Washington Univ in St. Louis

Lehigh univ

Cornell

Elmira college

can you’ll recommend any other schools?

I would love to do Cornell as my ED, but they dont have financial aid for ED. Georgetown has only Early Action, which is not very helpful because they don’t tell you your financial aid till the last moment.
My college counsellor insits that i do F&M as my ED. However, i think she is being too safe and i can do better. PLEASE give me your suggestions because i’m totally confused.
Thanks

Oh yeah, one more thing. I’ve checked the rankings in U.S News for Business programs and F&M in now where to be found :(, which troubles me a lot.
Help!

hey abomb,
sloan is a bit too ambitious for me. in upenn, they need the new SAT, which i dont plan to take. in other univs. like michigan and texas there is hardly any good need based aid for intl students. in nyu, in 2003 outta 849 they aided 19 with 9000 average aid. I need much more aid than that.
The list i have compiled is based on schools that offer a lot of aid and are yet strong in business. I would love to apply to cornell, but since tehy dont have ED, i need other options. If i apply somewhere else, i want it to be equally good since ED is like my one chance to shoot for the stars.
Which would you recommend from the list?
thanks anyway

What about USC or UVA? You should really apply anywhere, reguardless of how much it costs, because you may be pleasantly surprised when they do your aid. You may just luck out.

hey guys, thanks a lot for the suggestions. appreciate it. defiantley will look into these colleges. i was aslo thinking of doing washington university in st. louis as my ED… how is the olin school of business. besides the rankings, can anyone gimme the inside scoop. how are the professors, students etc. what’s the course like, work load like etc… would you’ll recommend it as my ED? Also, does anyone know about the 3+2 program? how good is it?
thanks
