Need help finding some schools

Hey guys, I’m a third year California CC student that’s looking for some LAC’s to apply to. Here are my stats:

Major: Physics
GPA: 3.57, but I have all A’s in math/science classes with the exception of Diff Eq(B)
SAT: did not take
ECs: none

your lack of any ec’s at all will hurt your application a lot…what are you looking for in an xfer school?

Somewhere that has a pretty good science program, setting doesn’t really matter too much, but I really like the prospect of being in small classes and getting close to professors.

I don’t know whether “no” EC’s will hurt you or not. Do you work outside of school? What do you do with your non-school time?

Very difficult to recommend schools without knowledge of geographic preferences or other factors. What schools are you thinking about?

I kinda have a job, but it’s not an everyday thing. I am in the process of teaching my self guitar(it’s been two years) and I play baseball (not for the school)and Racquetball, but I wasn’t sure if those counted as EC’s.

In a dream world I would like to go to either Harvey Mudd or Pomona college, but I know I don’t even have a chance at those schools. I do like it in on the west coast, but I really wouldn’t mind going to school on the east coast.

bump…

Yes, those can be EC’s.

You might look at schools which don’t require SAT/ACT scores — [The National Center for Fair & Open Testing | FairTest](http://www.fairtest.org). Several LACs there, many strong in sciences. One that I happen to know of is Bates in Maine - but that is certainly as far away from California as you can get.

Even physical activities that you do for fun count as ECs? Would training for ROTC be viewed in a similar light?
