Need help from Ebay experts

I bought a bluetooth bracelet for my son for Christmas on November 24. On Jan 2 he told me it doesn’t work. Emailed the seller (who’s in China) who proceeded to email every couple of days asking stupid questions like “exactly what is the problem.” I figured he was trying to delay the process. On January 10 he/she finally told me to ship it back and they would test it and then determine whether to refund, repair or replace. Did so immediately. I kept emailing every few days asking if they had received it. Would either ignore me or say no. I finally reported the problem to resolution center. Seller complained. Still wouldn’t do anything. I left negative feedback. Seller complained agan and asked me to retract (!) Still won’t do anything.

Now I’m trying to get ebay to do something or paypal, but it’s either too late, or I can’t figure out how. Any suggestions?

Also advice: never buy any electronic device from a foreign seller. I think paypal only gives you 45 days to ask for money back and they can delay that easily.

I have had to file claims with paypal twice and both times they were resolved in my favor. They are very reasonable and easy to work with so give it a shot. I think they really want to make e-bay safe for all so they bend over backward to resolve any issue - I’m confident you’ll get reimbursed. Good luck!

well, what was the warranty statement on the listing? Should you deal with the manufactuer or the seller after 30 days?

I don’t see question like “exactly what is the problem” is entirely inappropriate for them to help you resolve the problem. There is a 12 hour time different between these two places so there will be so delay. Also, Jan 25th is the biggest holiday in China, all sort things are on 1st gear - very slow for about 2 weeks.

on the other hand, I have nearly 80 stars on eBay with 100% positive feedbacks, and I have contacted ebay and paypal for issue resolutions. If you provide them with all the records and documents, you should get a positive outcome.

For expensive stuff, I always take pictures as I am opening the box, each step. I got a full refund of an expensive item after leaving seller a positive feedback. I found a defect two days later but have a picture to show it was there when I opened the box.

Good luck.

PA Mom: where on Paypal do you file a claim? I think that I can’t because it was paid on November 24 and now it’s too late.

I haven’t filed for a long time and can’t remember about the paypal time limit. Did you pay by credit card ? That is your second line of protection. If you paid by credit card send a record of the item being sent back to the seller and the credit card company will reverse the charge for you.

When they do that, paypal will reverse the charge from the seller and assess them a fee of, $15, I think. Serves them right for not being good sellers.

If you log onto your Paypal account you can find the specific transaction you want to dispute. If you scroll down to the bottom there is a link to the resolution center and you can file a claim. I have also called to speak with a representative before and they are very helpful. I had a seller that refused to admit she had sold me something used ( advertised as new) but they settled in my favor. Don’t let a nasty seller intimidate you - if you feel ripped off you probably were LOL
