Ohio Wesleyan University

Saint Joseph’s

I really regret that I didn’t find about CC earlier so I could’ve had help w/ college choices, since I’m an international. I’m unhappy with this list of schools that I’m admitted to. they just don’t fit me and don’t seem where I’m supposed to be. Is any of them a good school?

Unfortunately, I can’t tell you very much about any of these schools. American has the best reputation by far. They are ranked by USNWR: LAC #100, Nat’l U #85, LAC #66, Nat’l U #97, Nat’l U- 3rd tier (respectively). I don’t know about Saint Joseph’s- which one are you referring to?

In any case, I think that American is the best school on the list. It is the most selective and I think it would offer you the best quality of education. It definitely has the best reputation (I haven’t heard much about any of the others). It also has a great location- Washington D.C. is a neat city. :)

I think Drew comes in a fairly close second on this list, but I can’t really tell you anything further about this school, although it is quite a bit smaller than American, if that is a consideration (~1500 vs. ~5500).

I hope that helps, sorry I couldn’t tell you more. Good luck!

ohio wesleyan and american are better than the rest by far.

ohio wesleyan has an excellent reputation in the sciences. i’ll give it an edge over american in placements in physics and med schools though someone posted the average mcat for OWU students which was pretty high and should indicate the quality of education there. at least in the sciences. i know it is pretty strong in international studies, english and classics.

american has the best location. it also has a better reputation in economics and international relations by a wide gap.

overall, i’d go with ohio wesleyan because it provides an excellent education (also small avg classes compared to american), is greatly underrated by us news and offers you a lot of aid. also because given that you are undecided but seem attracted to fields all of which are are pretty strong at ohio wesleyan but not so strong at american (except for american), i’d be go with the safe bet if your interests change. i guess visit your top two choices and then decide if that’s an option.

thanks rolio. i was kind of leaning towards those 2. but american is too big and too metropolitan for me, where as owu is small. and if owu is pretty strong in the academics esp. science, then that’s good.

but i read someone post Owu’s campus as ugly. that kind of put a shade over my view of owu. because i care about a school’s campus aesthetics a lot. i think that if the campus is beautiful, then i’d be able to study better and feel more comfortable. lol. the campus should represent me and the ecucation quality.
