Need help with finding and selecting

Please tell what top tier schools might be a match for me. I know that I have almost-to-none chance to get into an Ivy. But I still want to attend a pretty good school (like Northwestern).

So would everyone please suggest some school at the Northwestern level?

What are my chances of getting into those institutions?

How good are those schools in preparing me for an Ivy graduate program, especially based on early (i.e. freshmen) opportunities to do research with professors, intern opportunities, and future hiring aspects?

(Sidetrack question: Are the counselors and engineering professors friendly? Do they seem to care about students?)

Here are my general Information:

Gender: Female
Ethnicity - Asian (not native born Asian-American)

Thank you.

I don’t know that much about Northwestern but some others to possibly check into also are Michigan, Georgia Tech, RPI, NYU, BU, UCB, UCSD, Carnegie Mellon, University of Rochester (good with merit money) and Case Western (good with merit money). Best of luck!

I’m not going to be the most helpful :P, but you have great stats, so I’m sure you’ll get into some great colleges :D, and better yet, succeed and do well!!

A better question is what are your chances of paying for those schools. What can your family afford for school?

I will look into those institutions.

Thank you for your reply and encouragement.

Thank you for your reply.

About your question: I concur that this financial question is an important factor in college selection. However, I am confident that I will make it through with some parental support, loans, and part-time job/internship. When the time comes for me to decide, I would lean toward the college that offers me a generous amount of money, along with the majors and research opportunities that I want.

Northwestern only offer NMF merit aid, the rest is FA (they claim to meet full need).
Michigan, UCB and UCSB will offer nothing to an OOS student.
NYU offers lousy aid overall.
Definitely look at Rochester and Case.

Thank you for the list. I would do further research about them.
