'Need help with my UC transition' Thread

Haha, I do the same exact thing. I have 5 alarms on my cell phone and I usually turn those off in my sleep. I’d go morning class over night class (depending on how late it actually is).

ya if its late on a friday… haha forget it

morning classes are the best…have the rest of the day to do whatever you want.

You know, as a newbie (incoming freshman) I feel unprepared because I don’t know how to do anything yet. All i can do as of right now to go to open house to find more info-- the rest, I’m pretty much ignorant on… I haven’t mastered my “transferring” skills yet. Did you guys ever feel that way when you were a senior in HS?

it’s not late at all lol, actually, i don’t even think many people would call it late friday, really just the evening (i think it was 4-5:30) i just called it late cuz it was the latest time slot i saw for all the classes i had been considering and a friend called it that lol, nothing like cc where i had a class from 6-10 :O

@ LiveTheLimit: Ya know, you’re way ahead of everyone else! Not only are you one of the few seniors in hs in this forum, but you’re on this site in general! Seriously, you won’t find a better resource for transferring than College Confidential. I learned nearly everything here. Just give it a few months, and soon you’ll be a pro.

During my first semester at my CCC, I took absolutely nothing that was transferrable. Of course, I didn’t know this. My counselors just told me to take this and that.

If I could give 1 major piece of advice:

Make sure everything you take is UC transferrable (or nearly everything).

You’ll save yourself time and money :). Also, register for classes the moment that your appointment allows you to. Classes fill up quickly.

You’re going to breeze through CCC if you stay on here and pick up little tid-bits about transferring. I’ve been here for about 8 months, and I’ve learned so much. Soon enough your transfer class will be on here asking questions and anticipating the transfer to a UC. You won’t feel as alone lol. You’ll master everything soon!

PM me or just ask anything anytime you have a question. I wish you the best!

I have an English class every Saturday from 8-11:30AM.
I actually like it because I only have to go once a week and I don’t have to think about doing work for it until Friday which allows me to focus on my other classes during the week.

ya an icee sounds good right now

brain freeze.

omg this one time i got an icee at a movie theater and the concession person asked… “do you want both cherry and lemon?”

and i was amazed…i was shocked
i said…

“you can do that?” 0_o

lol at the back up thread…

hah that reminds me of that new jack in the box commercial where he’s buying food at the movies

speaking of jack…all work and no play makes jack a dull boy

and of course my favorite jack…
i am jack’s complete lack of surprise…smirking revenge…inflated ego.

^w.t.f haha

its ok tho

Does anyone one else prefer morning, and night classes?

I started taking them my first year in my CCC, and they were wonderful. The atmosphere was very encouraging, and I felt the students that were there actually wanted to be there. In my experience the teachers who work the night and morning classes are more laid back, and it is easier to talk to them to get help.

^ I heard that some schools aren’t accepting transfers for certain quarters, but if you apply for the fall semester than they should be accepting applications.

Uber_cast, that’s not what Berkeleyfanboy2 was asking. To answer your question, I have heard/read the same thing. I can’t imagine it would be a constant ordeal, more so a rare idiotic 19 year old sophomore complaining about how it was so much more difficult for him to get there from his grade-inflated high school than you. Hey, you took the more economical route- and you get the same degree! Best of luck!

i’m transferring to davis and was wondering if i should bring my car up there??

thanks for the great info  at night. i like to discuss at night.

so how hard is ucla gonna kick my ass? I feel as if CC made me soft, I was always lazy I Passed my AP exams ro 5 out of 6. Not to brag but Im not a genius but im not an idiot but how jarring is the transition?

SOrry. I guess I misunderstood the question. Just completely ignore me XD.

I think that UCLA will be pretty *** holy **** at first but only because the workload will be larger and the classes a bit more…professional (as opposed to a cc I mean). But I think if YOU start to psyche yourself out in the beginning, that’s how things start to get hard. Just keep your studies up and be organized and have fun.
