Need help with UC prompt 1 + read UC prompt 2? (about afghanistan my experience there)

So I used to live in afghanistan.

For the first UC prompt, I’m kind of stuck. I started out writing about the crazy things in Afghanistan that I saw, like suicide bombers and stuff. But I want to write about how I’m still proud of Afghanistan despite those things and I appreciate liberty in America after seeing all the messed up things the Taliban do there. But I don’t know how to fit that in without going offtopic. Some help if you can.

Bump, please someone help me. It’s not like I wanted to do this last minute. I spent nearly 25 hours on the essay but I scratched it because I didn’t write with emotion. I was using grammar and everything, but it didn’t carry emotion. I really believe my new one has power behind it, just needs some direction.

How has your surroundings impacted your dreams aka your major? Relate your environment to your dreams. If you can’t do that then this isn’t the right topic.

Well I want to do International Relations and work in an NGO like the World Bank or UN or something and help my Afghans out.
