<p>I was accepted to NU, but I wont be able to pay the tuition/board/room this year. What is northwestern’s policy on taking a year off (so that I may work or rsomething similar)? With regards to my financial situation, my parents and I are having family issues and thus I will not be getting any help from them, nor any cosignatures for any loans (thus not being able to get any loans approved)</p>

<p>btw, my college is mccormick (but will transfer into weinberg asap, accepted to a special program mmss in weinberg)</p>

<p>I’ve heard of NU granting deferred enrollment, but I don’t know exactly what their policy is. If I were you, I’d just call admissions and find out for sure. If you haven’t called financial aid yet, that would probably be a better place to start. They probably can’t do much because you apparently have parents who could afford to help, but you’ll want to be sure before you ask for a deferment.</p>
